The Bhutan Basketball Federation’s (BFB) vision extends far beyond simply playing a game; it is a holistic strategy to embed basketball deeply within Bhutanese society. The core of this vision is to elevate basketball to the status of the “sport of choice” for the 21st century. This ambitious goal is being pursued through the creation of a robust and interconnected sporting ecosystem, starting with the establishment of the A-League in 2013. This league is not an end in itself but a cornerstone for a broader national competition framework designed to invigorate and link local and regional leagues. By fostering competition at all levels, the BFB is working to create a pipeline of talent and a widespread culture of participation.
